BiasharaNest runs a start-up/ business idea competition every year. Application runs all year round. We select 3-5 of the best start-ups or business ideas. The application process is done through our website. The application process has three stages;

Entrepreneurs should Upload Pitch Deck

Business plans

The businesses work on a complete business plan, financial plan and submit it to BiasharaNest. BiasharaNest will not provide a specific format. The business plans are vetted by the Investment committee and some are selected for stage 3. Engagement agreements are given at this stage.

Pitching

The Entrepreneurs who win stage 2 and agree to the engagement agreement pitch their businesses to the investment committee. The pitching is given a specific amount of time. Pitches that win are the ones that qualify for funding and support.

Evaluation Criteria:

  1. Status of the business (started operations or business idea) – businesses with ongoing operations have an advantage.
  2. Viability of the business idea – Is this an attractive market? Are there customers for the product or service? Is the business pricing competitive?
  3. Scalability – can the business be expanded sustainably and profitably?
  4. Motivation, commitment, capacity, experience and capability of the team or vision bearer.
  5. Viability of financial plan / funding requirement
  6. Agreement to the engagement agreement.
